PEOPLE
Tarek Elkhoraibi, PhD, PE. With a background in earthquake engineering, I specialize in the analysis of structures subjected to seismic hazards. Prior to co-founding HE3, I was involved in many large-scale projects primarily in the nuclear industry, helping with the analysis, design and evaluation of seismic risk, where I also got to learn more about seismology, statistics and geotechnical earthquake engineering.
When I manage to take time off from the busy life schedule, I try to beat Alidad in backgammon, enjoy a game of tennis, go horseback riding or on long hikes.
Alidad Hashemi, PhD, SE. My background is in structural and earthquake engineering and I specialize in structural modeling, dynamic analysis, soil-structure-interaction analysis, seismic risk analysis, and seismic evaluations of commercial and industrial buildings. I enjoy tackling technically challenging projects, programming, and interacting with clients, fellow engineers, and students.
When I'm not working, I like to run after my kid, bike or run in the hills, play tennis and soccer, discuss politics with friends over beer and bbq, and play serious backgammon (keep trying Tarek!).
Chih-Cheng Chin, PhD, PE. CC joined HE3 recently, he has more than 20 years of experience in geotechnical and earthquake engineering research, consulting, and application. He has been involved in geotechnical and seismic investigations for infrastructure systems, industrial and commercial buildings, and nuclear facilities. These investigations include field exploration, construction observation, earthquake ground motion and site response, liquefaction potential, and seismic soil-structure interaction.
